The American International Chamber of Commerce (AICC) is deeply committed to protecting the privacy of internet users. In doing so, AICC has adopted guidelines which serve as the basis for our work on the world wide web. These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that internet technologies are rapidly evolving, and that underlying business models are still not established. Accordingly, these guidelines are subject to change. Such changes will be posted on this page.
Below is information outlining our support for the responsible management of personal information. Please read the following terms and conditions relating to your use of the AICC web site carefully. By accessing and using the AICC web site, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Statement. If you choose not to accept the stipulated terms and conditions, please do not use this web site.
Personal Information
During the process of delivering web pages and advertisements to visitors of our web site, AICC does not collect any personally identifiable information about you such as name, address, phone number, or e-mail address. However, AICC does obtain some types of non-personally identifiable information such as the internet service provider you use to connect to the internet, your web browser type, or the type of computer operating system you use (Macintosh or Windows, for example). AICC does not employ the use of "cookies" in the gathering of such information or in the delivery of other content.
The information collected by AICC is used for learning how we can better serve the needs of our users; for systems administration and troubleshooting, and for measuring the effectiveness of site content. AICC may provide the information to third parties that assist AICC in carrying out its endeavors.
In some cases, you may voluntarily provide personal information: completing an online application, order form, or survey. Online purchases involving credit card or cheque numbers are done via secure protocols; all information you input is encrypted, then sent to directly AICC. Messages sent to AICC via the web site's e-mail hyperlinks or feedback page are not encrypted and may be viewed by AICC or used in advertising material, in both cases without compensation. AICC cannot be responsible for the use of e-mail messages sent to any recipients other than AICC via the web site's email hyperlinks. All information sent to AICC may be stored in aggregate form so we can better understand the type of individuals who use our web site. If the information that you volunteer will be used in any non-aggregate form, this will be clearly indicated on the page requesting information.
Photo Disclaimer:
You (the AICC member) have to understand that photographs may taken at the event may be used by American International Chamaber of Commerce in future marketing materials. You understand that will not be identified and that my image will not be sold or used for commercial purposes. You agree to allow publication of your photograph.
Children Under 13
If you are under the age of 13, do not send us information about yourself, including your name, address, or e-mail address. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected any personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will remove that information as quickly as possible.
Protecting Your Privacy Online
While AICC has taken reasonable steps to limit the uses of information provided by you as described in this Privacy Statement, we cannot guarantee that the information will remain permanently secure. There is always a possibility that your information could be lost due to technical problems or stolen from our databases by malicious computer users. AICC is not responsible for any such loss or theft.
If you are concerned about your privacy at other web sites, we recommend that you investigate their privacy policies. AICC is not, however, responsible for the content or the privacy policies of web sites to which the AICC web site may link. You may also wish to investigate your web browser's security and privacy settings, especially those relating to "cookie files" and "proxy servers".
