This program will help you begin to understand how to use the Harmonized Tariff System for imports and the Schedule B listing for exports. You will learn and review the 6 GRI- General Rules of Interpretation used to classify every product. You will learn instructions amp; CBP based sample classifications using each of the GRI’s.

This training will show you how CBP reviews binding ruling requests and what that means for your products by using the CROSS system.
-Understand how, why and when the Harmonized Tariff Schedule was created.
-Learn what the GRI – General Rules of Interpretation are and how they are used on every classification.
-Review the roles of a customs broker, freight forwarder and importer/exporter of record.
– Learn the difference between a Schedule B amp; HTS number.
– Understand how to use the CROSS- Customs ruling on-line search system.
– Review instructor amp; CBP based specific classification examples.

Cost is $55 per person (pre-register by March 8th for Spokane, June 1st for Seattle)
$65 per person (register after May 8th, and June 1st respectively).
Cost includes all reference material, morning coffee amp; lunch.

This training usually costs $250 but is in part funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration through the State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) Grant.
